Federal State Educational Institution of Higher Education "Voronezh State Medical University. NN Burdenko "the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation is one of the leading educational and research institutions in the country, with an enrollment of about 5,000 people. This is one of the oldest universities in Russia

History of university dates back to 1802 - date of foundation  University of Dorpat, which in 1918 moved to the city of Voronezh. In 1930 it became an independent Faculty of Medicine Medical Institute, which in 1994 was awarded with the status of Academy, and in 2015 Academy was granted university status. University  provides high-quality education and leading-edge research and development in the field of medicine, biology and pharmacy. University is included in the top ten best medical universities in Russia, has trained more than 40 thousand specialists, including foreign experts from 56 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.

The founder of the University is the Russian Federation, the authority carries out the founder of the Russian Federation Ministry of Health. The University has a perpetual license to conduct educational activities and the state accreditation. University suschestvlyaet its activities on the basis of the Charter.

Currently, University consists of 6 faculties and 3 educational institution

Medical, pediatric, dental, pharmaceutical, medical-prophylactic faculty prepare specialists on the basis of complete secondary education.

Faculty training of highly qualified personnel an opportunity to continue training in an internship at one of the medical specialties or residency, which is part of a multi-level structure of higher medical education in the Russian Federation.

International Institute of Medical Education and Cooperation is preparing specialists for foreign countries.

Institute of Nursing Education trains specialists on the basis of secondary special vocational education and complete secondary education.

78 departments of the Academy are teaching and doing research work of more than 800 employees, including 149 doctors of medical science, including Professor 91, 525 candidates of medical sciences.

Educational activities at VSMU n.a. N.N. Burdenko carried out on the basic educational programs developed on the basis of university state educational standards of higher education, state educational standards of secondary vocational education in the relevant field of study or specialization, and taking into account the disciplines of exemplary programs, approved by the relevant teaching union.
